Mucky Duck Theatre was established in late 2024 by local artists liz HOWLS and Drew Simpson. Recognizing the demand for a dedicated space for puppet shows, we constructed walls from pipe and drape within Katie Shook's Mudland Playspace, where we held our inaugural performances (3 Short Stories; pictured above) in December 2024.

Most of our puppet shows are designed for living room-sized spaces, making them intimate and engaging, perfect for small groups of 30 to 40 people. In the summer of 2025, we were thrilled to receive a RACC grant to create a bike-pulled puppet theater, which led to the inception of the Ten-Speed Theatre Tour.
